COMMERCIAL PILOT LICENSE
Prerequisites for Enrollment:
* Valid Private Pilot License.
* Hold a Valid Class 1 Medical Certificate.
Requirements for completion:
* Minimum of 200 hours flight time with at least 100 hours as a pilot in command, including 20 hours cross country flight time..
Membership:
All persons using club facilities must hold a valid club membership. The fee is $50.00 per year for a Flying Membership. Also available are Sustaining & Life memberships. Fees for membership are available upon request.
CLUBHOUSE
The Brandon Flying Club membership entitles each member to use the facilities of our clubhouse, The club operates seven days per week. There are also various social activities as well as seminars that are held throughout the year.
FLIGHT TRAINING
35 hours of dual instruction flight time, including:
* 8 hours of advanced dual instruction emphasizing the improvement of general flying skills including not less than 5 hours acquired during cross-country flight.
* 5 hours of dual night flight time including not less than 2 hours acquired during cross-country flight.
* In addition to any flight time acquired by an applicant to meet the requirements of the above, 20 hours of dual instrument time using suitable radio navigational facilities to complete elementary navigation procedures and two-way radio to comply with Air Traffic Control procedures and clearances of which, 10 hours shall have been acquired in aeroplanes.
* Not more than 10 hours may be instrument ground time (simulator). The instrument ground time shall be in addition to the 35 hours of dual instruction.
30 hours of solo flight time including:
* 25 hours of solo flight time emphasizing the improvement of general flying skills of the applicant and shall include a cross-country flight to a point of not less than 300 nautical mile radius from the point of departure and, except where authorized by the Minister of Transport, include at least 3 landing points other than that of departure.
* 5 hours of solo flight time by night during which 10 takeoffs, circuits and landings were completed.
GROUND SCHOOL (Ground School Schedule) AND WRITTEN EXAM
Completing a course of not less than 40 hours commercial pilot aeroplane ground school instruction of the following subjects:
* Air Regulations
* Aerodynamics and Theory of Flight
* Meteorology
* Airframes, Engines and Systems
* Flight Instruments
* Radio and Electronic Theory
* Navigation Flight Operations
* Licensing Requirements
* Human Factors including Pilot Decision Making
Obtaining not less than 60% in the Commercial Pilot Licence Aeroplane written examination on subjects listed.
